I found this recipe on my TweetDeck NutriBullet Column. It suddenly appeared, one fine day. Someone with the Twitter handle of Joy the Baker posted it and I felt compelled to try it out because she said she enjoys this smoothie for breakfast and I am usually in a rush in the mornings, so I thought it could be something quick and easy to prepare before going to work.
The recipe includes the following:
1 heaping cup spinach leaves
1 heaping cup chopped kale leaves
1/2 pear
1 frozen banana
1 1/2 cups cold almond milk (or soy mild or orange juice)
1 tablespoon honey
I chose to use orange juice this time around, since I had a choice between orange juice, soy mild or almond milk.

I didn't like this smoothie because it was warm. Obviously, a question that emerged after I tasted my smoothie was "WHY IS IT WARM???" I made a huge mistake and left the NutriBullet running longer than I should have. I completely forgot that the whole reason it is a NutriBullet Magic Bullet is because it has more power than a regular blender, which means that it does its job a lot more efficiently than a blender would. So I placed my smoothie in the freezer for a few minutes and in the meantime I did some research on-line. You'll see the articles I came across, I linked it to my Diigo. Just click on the subtab within this page called "20% Research".
I discovered that you're not supposed ever let the NutriBullet run longer than one minute because you will most likely burn the motor and ruin your extractor. I think that's what made my smoothie warm up! I was wondering why it was warm if I used cold orange juice and a frozen banana! I was disappointed by how much the temperature affected the taste! Even after I took it out from the freezer, I was just not enjoying it anymore. I didn't want to waste it, so I just put it in the refrigerator the rest of the night and forced myself to drink it in the morning for breakfast. It still smelled like Jamba Juice, which made it more appealing, but I still didn't really like the taste.
I'm going to try it out again and this time I will be careful not to let the NutriBullet run longer than it needs to so that it doesn't heat up my smoothie, killing all the enzymes in the process. The NutriBullet is so powerful that it actually just needs a few seconds to do its job.
