Post by Cristal Herrera. | One of my authentic questions was whether or not there was such a thing as summer recipes versus winter recipes for the NutriBullet. Through my research I discovered that seasonal recipes do exist. Today I made what is considered a fall/winter recipe: Pumpkin Pie Protein Smoothie. |
For the Pumpkin Pie Protein Smoothie I used the following ingredients:
- ½ banana, frozen
- ½ cup frozen pineapple
- ½ cup frozen peach slices
- ¼ cup pumpkin puree
- ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 5-6 ice cubes
Well, this didn't quite work out the way I had anticipated! All the frozen ingredients were getting stuck at the top while the blades were happily blending only the ingredients that it could reach!
Post by Cristal Herrera. | As I learned previously, we are not supposed to allow the NutriBullet to run for more than just a few seconds. Letting it run for more than a minute will ruin the motor. So since it wasn't reaching the frozen ingredients that remained at the top, away from the extractor blades, I ended up having to help it out by scooping out all the ingredients that were already blended, in order to allow room for the frozen ingredients to make it to the blades so that they would also ended up blended! This blend of ingredients yielded a thicker final product than I imagined. Too thick for me to consider it a smoothie. It had the consistency of apple sauce. Funny how it did not have any apples in it, however, to me it ended up tasting like apple sauce! Ha! So I just ate a portion of it with a spoon and saved the rest for tomorrow as a snack. To me, this is homemade apple sauce without any apples! Hee, hee! |
