My current familiarity with Enterprise Architecture is limited to the readings I have done so far from Module 1 and the video titled "Why Enterprise Architecture?". Prior to this course, I had never heard of Enterprise Architecture. I understand that it is used to help agencies organize their data with technology that is "robust, flexible, and efficient" (1). Enterprise Architecture allows agencies to have dependable technology that will allow them to easily access their data, manipulate and update it, while improving the way it is arranged or implementing new ideas in a way that it won't interrupt, or affect, the rest of the information to which it is connected.
According to our module 1 readings, the most common architecture frameworks are: Zachman Framework, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), and the Federal Enterprise Architecture.
Throughout this course I hope to learn about how Enterprise Architecture and LCAP are related. Since LCAP is a three-year roadmap that describes what steps each district plans on taking in order to be in alignment with their vision and mission, I'm curious about what role LCAP plays in Enterprise Architecture. Since only a small section of the LCAP addresses technology goals, it might not play that big of a role in Enterprise Architecture.
